This website is dedicated to preventing Cat Creek Energy, LLC from building 31 wind towers on the western fringes of Camas Prairie in southern Idaho. There are many reasons why these 500-foot tall wind turbines should not be constructed in this natural and beautiful region and they will be addressed on this website in the near future. Here are a few to get you up to speed right away.
- Reason 1: The visual disruption along the Highway 20 Corridor that Roger Brooks, a noted tourism expert called “one of Idaho’s best drives.”
- Reason 2: The Elmore County conditional use permit approval process for this entire project was flawed and we believe disregarded state and local guidance.
- Reason 3: Disruption of wildlife migration patterns. A large number of elk utilize this specific area for their annual and seasonal migration corridor.
